The Learning Skills Center is designed to enhance the academic skills of successful students as well as to provide developmental assistance using both group and individual formats.

Squirrel's Guide to Studying

Squirrels, are you having problems coping with schoolwork? Want to avoid the procrastination and stress that get in your way? If so, checkout "A Squirrels Guide To Studying" Web site. It helps you in time management, note taking, reading skills, test taking, stress management and all other recipes to succeed in your college life.

Students can schedule individual appointments with the director to discuss learning needs.

Peer Tutor Programs

Many students who discover they need help with math courses use the LSC's Math Peer Tutor program. Trained tutors are available Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Carpenter 209 for help in Math 130, 150, 160, 211, 212, and 213. No appointment is necessary.

Match-a-Tutor
Through the Match-a-Tutor program, students can arrange for tutoring in a particular course by calling the LSC.

Peer Mentoring

Peer mentors can confidentially help you:

  • manage your time
  • learn effective study skills
  • adjust to college life

Call the director to learn more about peer mentoring or to request a peer mentor.

Disabilities

If you have a documented disability, the director is available to answer questions you may have concerning your learning needs and to help negotiate accommodations.
