Mary Baldwin University’s Sunday Recital Series presents soprano Margaret Gingerich on Sunday, October 8. She will sing musical selections by Mozart, Debussy, Richard Strauss, and Gian Carlo Menotti.

Gingerich joined the Southern Virginia University faculty in 2001 to teach vocal studies. She has served as acting director of choral groups at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania and has performed as a soloist in recitals, operas, musical theater productions, and with orchestra in various cities across the country. Gingerich also teaches foreign language diction, opera workshop, vocal pedagogy, vocal literature, and French grammar. She is a participating member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the College Music Society, and the American Choral Directors Association.

Neil Thornock will accompany Gingerich in her concert at Mary Baldwin. Thornock is also on the faculty at Southern Virginia as an adjunct in music theory.

The performance will be at 3 p.m. on October 8 in Mary Baldwin University’s Francis Auditorium at the corner of Coalter and Frederick streets, Staunton.
