This week, Director of International Programs Heather Ward represented Mary Baldwin College at the China International Education Exhibition Tour, or CIEET, in Beijing. The 16th annual event drew an estimated 10,000 perspective students interested in learning about U.S. colleges and universities. Joining Ward at the student fair was MBC alumna Jenny Jia ’98 and Miss ZhuXinyu (“Lynn”), an intern in the Beijing office of Zinch China, a social networking site for Chinese students applying to American colleges. Ward said she “had lots of great conversations with students and their parents interested in Mary Baldwin’s programs in art, business, economics, and music.” Ward also traveled to South Korea, where she and Professor Emeritus of English Bob Grotjohn met with applicants and last year’s exchange students from Sungshin Women’s University in Seoul.
