MFA/MLitt Students Present The Maid’s Tragedy

A husband halted. A mistress mocked. A daughter devastated. A sister shamed. The Maid's TragedyLovers lost.

It all happens in Beaumont and Fletcher’s Jacobean drama The Maid’s Tragedy presented by Mary Baldwin College’s MLitt/MFA Shakespeare and Performance program.

Watch the drama unfold as the King commands Evadne, sister to the soldier Melantius, to marry Amintor despite his promise to Aspatia, sparking a fire in his court that consumes the kingdom.

The Maid’s Tragedy will be performed at 7:30 p.m. April 25 and April 26 at the Blackfriars Playhouse, 10 S. Market Street, Staunton. Music will begin at 7:15 p.m.

Performances are free and open to the public. Donations benefit the MLitt/MFA Shakespeare and Performance program at Mary Baldwin College in partnership with American Shakespeare Center.
