Everyone: Students, Faculty, Staff, Sponsored Guests:
Using the Francis PC.
- Turn the Francis PC on. Press Ctrl Alt Del and sign on to the blue screen using your MBC ID and NETWORK PASSWORD
- Turn the projector ON by pressing the Projector button and choose PC on the Crestron Control Plate.
- Pull out the keyboard drawer to use the black PC keyboard and mouse.
- When finished, log out, turn off PC if there is not another class directly behind you and press Shut Down and then Yes on the Crestron Control Plate to turn projector off.
Using the Francis MAC.
- Turn the MAC on. Sign on to the using your MBC ID and NETWORK PASSWORD.
- Turn the projector ON and choose MAC as input on the Crestron Control Plate.
- Pull out the keyboard drawer to use the white MAC keyboard and mouse.
- When finished, log out, turn off the MAC and press Shut Down and then Yes on the Crestron Control Plate to turn projector off.
Playing a Blu-Ray disc:
- Turn the Samsung Blu-ray player ON.
- Turn the projector ON and choose Blu-ray as input on the Crestron Control Plate
- Use controls on Crestron plate to control the Blu-ray player. Use Vol UP/DOWN arrows to control volume.
- When finished, turn off the Blu-ray player and press Shut Down and then Yes on the Crestron Control Plate to turn projector off.
Playing a DVD or VCR:
- Turn the JVC DVD/VCR player ON.
- Turn the projector ON and choose DVD/VCR as input on the Crestron Control Plate.
- Use controls on Crestron Control Plate to control the DVD/VCR player. Use the Vol UP/DOWN arrows to control volume.
- When finished, turn off the DVD/VCR player and press Shut Down and then Yes on the Crestron Control Plate to turn projector off.
Use your own Laptop:
- Turn the Laptop on.
- Turn the projector ON and choose Laptop as input on the Crestron Control Plate.
- Locate the Laptop cables at the lower right of the cabinet. Plug the Laptop Video cable into the laptop’s 15 pin VGA port. If your laptop does not have this port, plug the HDMI cable into your Laptop’s HDMI port. On the Crestron Control Plate, choose VGA or HDMI.
- Plug the Laptop Audio cable into the Headphone jack. Use the Vol UP/DOWN arrows on the Crestron Control Plate to control volume.
- When finished, unplug cables and press Shut Down and then Yes on the Crestron Control Plate to turn projector off.
Use a boombox / .mp3 player / sound system:
- Turn the player on.
- Locate the Audio Laptop cable at the lower right of the cabinet.
- Plug the Laptop Audio cable into the Headphone jack of the player. Use the Vol UP/DOWN arrows on the Crestron Control Plate to control volume.
- When finished, turn off player and unplug cables.
Blank Projector Screen:
- Press Vid Mute on Creston Control Plate. To resume projecting, press Vid Mute again.
For Faculty, Staff, and sponsored Guests:
Use the Francis Laptop to control the Francis PC.
1) To unlock the Laptop, get the password to the combination look on the hood in the service room from Instructional Technology.
2) Turn the projector ON and choose PC as input on the Crestron Control Plate.
3) Open the hood in the service room behind Francis.
4) Take Laptop from the charger and bring into Francis.
5) Turn on the Francis PC.
6) Turn on laptop and connect to the network.
7) Start Team Viewer from the Laptop:
- Control Remote Computer: 527945247 Press Connect
- Password: psc300
8) DO NOT PRESS press control+alt+delete on the keys of the laptop, Click on the button on the tab at the top of your screen labeled ctl+alt+del.
9) Log in to the Francis PC from the Laptop using your MBC Pin and Network Password.
10) Click on the tab at the top of the screen that looks like four arrows pointing away from each other to make the Francis PC full screen.
11) Hide the Teamviewer folder by pressing the > tab
When Finished:
- Log off of the Francis PC from the Laptop BEFORE you exit Team Viewer by clicking on the Start Menu on the Team Viewer Screen.
- Log out of Team Viewer by clicking on the X at the top left of the screen on the Laptop.
- Log out of AND turn off the Laptop.
- Return the Laptop to the docking station in the hood. Lock the hood.
- Turn the projector OFF by pressing Shut Down and then Yes on the Crestron Control Plate.
Using the microphone
1) To unlock the microphone, get the password to the combination look on the hood in the service room from Instructional Technology.
2) Turn microphone on using the switch on the bottom. Use the Mic Up/Down arrows on the Crestron Control Plate to adjust volume for that microphone number..
3) When finished, place the microphone in the charger base with the gold contacts to the rear. Make sure the red light on the charger base comes on or the microphone will not recharge. Lock up the hood.
To use the whiteboard while projecting:
If you want to use the upper quarter of the screen for your projected image from the PC and still use the white board at the same time, BEFORE smartshield is put on, do the following:
- Right click on an empty space on the desktop
- Choose Personalize, Desktop Background
- Choose a picture location of Solid Color and Black.
- Save this setting.
- Move your icons to the upper left hand quadrant of your desktop.
Then when clicking on Show Slide press the Ctrl key. Then minimize everything else except the Slide Show that is in the upper left quadrant.
