There’s a really good video here explaining the easy way to make a QR Code like this for your website:
In short: Copy the URL
Go to www.goo.gl
Paste the URL into the box and click on Shorten URL
A smaller URL will pop up in a blue box. Copy that URL. (example: http://goo.gl/CrwaF)
In a new tab, paste that URL with .qr after it and hit enter. (example: http://goo.gl/CrwaF.qr) This will show you the QR Code.
To see a higher resolution version of it, change the 150X150 in the address line to, for example, 300X300 and hit enter again.
In order to insert an image INSIDE your email, rather than as an attachment, you need to click on the Insert Image icon (see below)
In Adobe Reader, click on Edit and Take a Snapshot. Drag the cursor to highlight the parts of the .pdf you want to embed. You will be able to scroll down. After you let go of the cursor you will get a message saying The Selected Area Has Been Copied.
In your Gmail, click on Ctrl-V or Right Click and Paste to paste the image into the email. You can resize the image by dragging the corner or by clicking on the Image and choosing Original Size or Best Fit.
You can send SMS messages to your contacts’ mobile phones using Gmail Chat. To do so from Gmail:
Enter your contact’s name in the ‘Search or invite friends’ box in Chat, and select Send SMS from the box of options that appears to the right of your contact’s name. Or, if you already have a Chat window open for this contact, just click Options, and select Send SMS.
In the dialog box, enter a phone number in the ‘Send SMS messages to this number’ field. This feature is only launched in selected countries. Click here for the list of supported countries and operators. If you are not located in one of these countries you can still use it, but you won’t see the SMS option in Chat until you enable it manually in the Chat settings page.
A Chat window appears. Just type your message as you would normally. When you hit Enter, the message will be sent to the phone number you entered.
If your contact replies, the text message response will appear as a reply in Chat. These conversations are stored in your Chat history just like regular chats (but keep in mind that you can’t go off the record while communicating via SMS).
SMS charges: Google does not charge for using this service. However, mobile providers’ standard charges will apply to any SMS messages sent from a mobile device to Google Chat. Please check your mobile provider’s price plan for details.
Open Email with attachment. Select “Preview Document.” This feature only works when you receive a link to a Google Document.
In Chrome, go to your gmail and click on the little gear icon at the top right (Settings). Under Desktop Notifications, click on Chat and/or Mail notifications off.

Select “compose” then click the black arrow pointing down next to “canned response” below the subject line. Select “New Canned Response” to create a canned response or select previously saved canned responses.
Select an email conversation. Click more then select “create a document” from the drop down menu. If keyboard shortcuts are enabled on your computer, you can create a new document by pressing ‘g’ then ‘w.’
Select the “Settings” icon then click “keyboard shortcuts.” Select keys for various actions by typing them into the box beside each action.
When you receive a voice mail, the Google voice player will appear below the message. Select the “Play” icon (a blue triangle) and your message will begin playing.

To add multiple inboxes to your Google account, select Settings, then Accounts. You will then select “Add another email address you own” and enter the information to access your account.
YouTube is also a good place to share a video. It has settings to allow different types of viewing privileges.
Go to your Google Drive and the Folder where you want to put your video. Click on Upload (red arrow pointing up) and Files. Browse to find the .wmv file and click on Open. Wait a few minutes for your video file to upload. When it is uploaded, right click on the Video File and choose Share.
If you want to share it with everyone at Mary Baldwin, change the Link Sharing to “Anyone at MBC with the link can view”. If you want to limit the sharing to specific email addresses, paste in the gmail addresses in the box under People and then click on Done. Click on Copy Link so you have the URL to paste into an email or into your Blackboard Course.
You may wish to share an entire Folder, which will share all the files in that folder. To do this , right click on the Folder name and choose Share. Adjust the Link sharing or paste in the gmail addresses and then click on Done.
