Photocopying and Scanning from MDCHS from the MFP (Multi Function; Printer, Scanner, Photocopier)

The MFP at Murphy Deming will print, photocopy and scan your documents.  Faculty and staff can print from their machines using the printers that are mapped there.  Students can print using the directions here:

Photocopying from the MFP

A.    Swipe MBC ID card (1)  with the magnetic stripe UP  - OR -

B.    Enter MBC ID Number on the keypad and click Start (2)

C) Press Next (3).

C.    Once logged in, Students can check their balance on the upper left of the screen (4).

D.   Click on the Copy Button (5).

E.    Make desired copy Selections, click START (6).   CopyOptionsAndStart

F.    To logout when finished, click the Home button on the left (7) then press Logout and then click on Login/Logout on the right (8). Logout

Scan to USB Drive

A.    Swipe MBC ID card (1) OR

B.    Enter MBC ID Number on the keypad and click Start (2). C.    Press Next (3).

D.    Insert the USB drive in the USB slot (4) and press the Home Button (5) and Scanner(6). ScanToUSB3 E. Click on Store to Memory Device (7) and Store File (8) and then click on OK.  The default Scanner Feed Paging option is Single Page.

F. To change paging, click on Multi-Page (9) and change the Feed Type.  To change the scan File type, click at 10. ScannerUSBOptions FeedType

G.  To enter a file name, click on File Name (11). At the File name screen, type in the file name and click on OK.  Then click on OK again. FileName

H.  Click on Start to begin the scan. FinishUSB

I.   When Writing complete message appears, press Exit (14) and Logout. Logout     *Express Steps to Scan a .pdf to your USB Drive.

Scan to the U: Drive

A.    Swipe MBC ID card (1) OR

B.    Enter MBC ID Number on the keypad and click Start (2).

C.  Press Next (3).

D.    Press the Scanner button on the left hand side (4). ChooseScanner

E.    Make sure the U: Drive tab is highlighted.

F.    Then click the type of document you prefer, MSWORD .doc (5),  Searchable .PDF (6), or TIFF/JPEG (7). ScanOptions

G.    You will be pointed to your U: Drive Home Folder.  To scan into a Sub-folder, press the folder icon.(8) and choose a Sub folder (9).  If you have no Sub folders, press the Home Folder (11) to go back .

H.    To name your file or change the PDF or OCR options, press OK (10), otherwise go to M.

I.    To name your Scanned Document File, Press Document Name (12).  J.    Use the displayed keyboard to type in the filename for your scanned documents and press OK (13). K.    To Change your Scan Settings Press Scan Settings (14), otherwise go to M. L.    Change the Scanning Settings as required and press OK (15). M.    Click Start (16).  When scanning log message appears, press OK (17). Scanning is complete. How can I scan in color, or multiple pages?

Swipe your card or type in your Employee or Student ID Number and then click on Next Choose Global Scan Choose PDF – click on Next Click on Scan Settings and under Scan Type choose Color – Text and Photo (it’s not on the first screen, you can only see B&W options there, but when you click on the down triangle you can get the color ones). On File Format, change JPEG to Multi Page PDF if you need multiple pages
