PEG Admission Deadlines

The Program for the Exceptionally Gifted operates on a rolling admissions basis. This means that there is no set deadline at which time applications must be complete in full to be considered for admissions into the program, or for a deposit to be made. However, due to the stringent applications process, and the number of materials that must be submitted, we do have some suggested deadlines.

March 15, 2008: Suggested Application Deadline
We suggest that your completed application be in our files by this time. By complete we would like to have your transcripts, letters of recommendation, student and parent essays, school information form, and your SAT and ACT scores. A family interview would usually be completed during the Prospective Student Overnight (PSO), being held March 29, 2008 - March 30, 2008.

April 1, 2008: Suggested FAFSA Completion Deadline
Most of our students receive some sort of federal or state aid. To be eligible for these monies, should you meet the requirements dictated by the state and federal government, you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). For most states the deadline to have filled out the FAFSA for the upcoming academic year is May 1st. You may start to fill out your FAFSA on January 1, 2008. However, we do suggest waiting until your taxes are completed before starting this process as the FAFSA asks for current financial information.

May 1, 2008: Suggested Deposit Deadline
Once accepted to PEG, a non-refundable $300 deposit is required in order to secure a place at our program. The deposit goes towards the student’s tuition account and may be paid by cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Please send or call in your payment to the PEG Office. May 1st is considered by most colleges to be the national day of decision.

Please keep in mind that these are only suggested deadlines, and that we will continue to accept applications on a case by case basis throughout the year. Should you have any questions about these deadlines, please contact the PEG office.
