In 2009, Louise Freeman received more than $72,000 in stimulus grants from the National Institutes of Health to continue her research on hormonal and sex differences in musk shrews, small, mouse-like mammals. She is already using the grants to hire interns, increase the size of the shrew colony, and expand on-site research facilities. |
