The Initiatives In order to realize our vision, we must undertake five strategic initiatives. These initiatives are linked to one another as structural building blocks and are realized through 31 interwoven goals Click to see full size version The History In the fall of 2003, President Pamela Fox started a yearlong conversation aimed at producing a strategic plan for the college that would reflect the views of as many members of our community as possible. Over 30 volunteers made up the Strategic Planning Task Force. A discussion paper, given to all faculty staff, students, and almost 14,600 alumnae/i and friends of the college, brought in over 1,300 written responses as well as active participation at meetings and forums throughout the year. A shared vision, rooted in our college’s values and core strengths, emerged. The initiatives that will make it a reality were forged from thousands of ideas and hundreds of hours of discussion; through them we will ensure that every Mary Baldwin College student has an education that empowers, encourages, and transforms. The plan was unanimously approved by the Board of Trustees on July 15, 2004, following unanimous endorsement by the faculty and staff. |
