Welcome back to MBC! We are busy preparing for a great year ahead and want to take this opportunity to communicate some important information to you.
First Day of Classes
Classes begin on Monday, August 31, 2009.
Arrival Information for Residential Students
Unless part of an early arrival group (i.e. student leaders, VWIL, SOAR, athletes, etc.) returning students can move in on Saturday, August 29 or Sunday, August 30. Room and building keys can be picked up from the Office of Security located on Sycamore Street.
Arrival Information for Commuter Students
Commuter students may pick up a key to the commuter lounge at the Office of Security, Saturday, August 29th or Sunday, August 30th. The commuter lounge is located on the first floor of Woodson residence hall and is a wonderful place to hang out between classes while on campus. Also, please let us know if you have a new local address or phone number. Just contact us in the Office of Student Life at 540/887-7221. We want to be able to communicate with you!
MBC ID Card
Please remember when packing your belongings for return that you need to bring back your MBC ID card. Your ID card is your tool to accessing campus services and is the meals pass for residential students. Please note that the dining hall now REQUIRES you to bring your ID card for service. Temporary meal passes will no longer be issued. If you cannot find your ID card you will need to get a new one from the Office of Security at a replacement cost of $10.
We are Here to Serve You
In an effort to ensure that you are ready for the first day of class, campus offices are open to serve you on Sunday, August 30 from 2pm-4pm. This includes the Campus Bookstore, Business Office, Computer and Information Services (CIS), Financial Aid, Registrar, Physical Plant, and Student Life. Come back over the weekend and get yourself settled before the Monday morning rush! Not sure what you need to take care of? Upon your return to campus check your student mailbox for your check-in form. The form should detail if you need to see someone in the Business Office or Financial Aid for example.
Voice Mail Box Set Up for Residential Students
All on campus rooms offer the ability to use a landline phone. In order to take advantage of this all students need to do is bring a phone and plug it into the wall. Cut down on cell phone minutes and use this free service for your campus and local calls. Included in the service is the ability to set up a voice mail box. This year voice mail boxes will be set up for students by request only (EXCLUDING VWIL students). If you wish to have a voice mail box set up, contact CIS.
Baldwin Alert Message (BAM)
It’s a perfect time to update your BAM account information. Have a new cell phone number? Please go to the following website to update your contact information.
