Hall Report Form (PDF)
A Hall Report is a primary source for Senators and Hall Presidents to represent their hall, dorms, apartment, house, or commuter student body. Hall Reports are utilized to make note of problems concerning the living conditions of their building, problems with the fellowship of the individuals in the living area, and any other general problems related to one of the groups or organizations represented by a Co-Chair.
The format of a Hall Report includes various sections. First, the Senator or Hall President must indicate the date and point of time during the semester that the report is being made for. There is also a space to write approximately how many individuals she represents (i.e. how many live on the hall, dorm, house; or how many commuter students she represents). Second, the Senator or Hall President has a space to make note about Unfinished Business brought up in Senate that needs to be taken to her hall, dorm, house, or the commuter students for discussion. Here, notes can be made to indicate whether the discussion of the Old Business was in favor of or against her hall, dorm, house, or the commuter students. Third, there is a section for general hall concerns in which a Senators or Hall President can explain explicitly in detailed writing what is wrong as well as indicate which Co-Chair she think might be able to handle her hall’s specific concern. Lastly, there is a section for a Senator or Hall President to note any and all other comments, questions, or concerns about her hall, dorm, house, apartment, or the commuter students. This section can also be used to describe other issues related to Senate or that are simply on the Senator or Hall President’s mind.
Senators and Hall Presidents may find that they do not have information for every section of a Hall Report each time they fill one out, but are encouraged to try to do so to the best of their abilities. Senators and Hall Presidents should take advantage of the opportunity to utilize Hall Reports to air major concerns during Senate, as well as issues that are not prevalent to the majority of the student body, which can include Physical Plant, Dining Services, and Security concerns.
Hall Reports should be made on a need only basis. Please print off the form (also available at top of page), fill it out with as many details as possible, and turn it in to the Senate President.
