How do I earn/lose points?

Starting Value (Senators, Hall Presidents, Co-Chairs) 0
Additions Points
Weekly attendance at Senate* 4
Attend Senate training 6
Committee Report (Co-Chairs only) 2
Special Event 2-4
Volunteer Project 2-4
* Full points will be given when the roll is called at the beginning of Senate.  The number of points given to a member of Senate who arrives late will be at the discretion of the board.
Deductions Points
Failure to attend Senate with:
   - less than 24 hours notice, no proxy -2
   – less than 24 hours notice, with a proxy -1
   – advance notice (24+ hours), no proxy -1
   – advance notice (24+ hours), with a proxy 0
Inappropriate attire (dress) at Senate -1
Failure to uphold the Student Leader Contract **

What are the points used for?

The point system allows the Senate Board to track weekly attendance at Senate, volunteer events, and special activities of the members of Senate.  It also aids the Board in choosing the Senator of the Year, the Hall President of the Year, and the Co-Chair of the Year.
