Besides academic careers, anthropologists find careers in government, the State Department, the Department of Defense, USAID, World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, medicine, epidemiology, public health, ethnic, community or area studies, linguistics, cognitive psychology, and neural science. Archaeologists are employed in American cultural resource management projects (which are required by federal and state laws before major building ventures), museum work, art museums, ethnographic museums, etc.
