Academics at MBC
Asian studies majors examine a broad perspective of culture, religion,
politics, economics, and history. The diverse and wide range
of classes covers China, Japan, Korea, and the Middle East. Students
can spend a semester or more at various universities in Asia, including
Mary Baldwin’s sister school, Doshisha Women’s College
in Kyoto, Japan. Asian Studies is housed in the interdisciplinary World
Language, Literatures, and Cultures department.
Students can pursue a BA with a major in Asian studies. Asian studies is also
available as a minor.
