What is the undergraduate theatre program?

The MBC undergraduate theatre program provides courses in the areas of acting and directing, history and literature, playwrighting, stage management and stagecraft, live theatre, and study abroad. Students receive a broad overview of theatre, and are then able to specialize. They also have the opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty in specialized courses designed by the student in areas of particular interest.

In addition to five main stage productions, including one musical, there are also opportunities in student productions and many local theatre groups, as well as graduate productions in the Blackfriars Playhouse. All women’s roles are reserved for students. Small classes and individual attention are a hallmark of our program.
