Major/Minor Course Requirements

As a biology major, your core courses will expose you to the entire range of biology, from cellular and molecular through organismal, up to the level of the ecosystem. You will be able to take additional course work in specific areas. As a senior, you will put what you have learned into practice. You will write and submit a formal research proposal and carryout an original research project of your own design.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR OF ARTS IN BIOLOGY:
In addition to the college-wide degree requirements you will need at least 36 hours in biology. After Principles of Biology, you will take the 4 core area courses

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BIOLOGY:
Same requirements for the bachelor of arts, plus three math courses Math 211, Math 212 and an additional 200 or 300 level Math course; and two 300 level Biology courses (not including Biol 381) Math 213 is recommended.
