The photography emphasis teaches both traditional black and white techniques, alternative and color printing. A new digital media lab supports alternative techniques and color printing. The lab includes a Power Mac G5, Epson Perfection 4990 Photo scanner, dual 20 inch cinema monitors, laser printer (used for both film positives and polyester plates), NuArc MSP 3140 multi-spectrum exposure unit and an Epson Stylus® Pro 4800. The studio promotes a non-toxic environment and includes eight condenser enlargers, dry mount press, print and film dryers, gravity works archival fiber based print washing station, light box and an electronic water temperature controller. Students receive instruction in both traditional and cutting edge techniques providing them the opportunity to build competitive portfolios.
