VWIL Band

The Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership Band is made up of VWIL Cadets as well as non-cadets. All students participating in band receive one semester hour of academic credit each semester. Band meets at least once a week under the supervision of the band director. The band participates in monthly parades, honor ceremonies, and special celebrations. Annual parades include the Staunton and Lexington Christmas parades and the St. Patrick's Day parade in New York City. The VWIL Band has marched in three gubernatorial parades, and was the only college invited to play at the opening of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
