Women’s Studies
SENIOR PROJECTS AND RESEARCH
As independent majors, seniors interested in women’s studies have completed theses on women in the U.S. Army, expanding career paths for Japanese professional women, and work-family policies for women in Japan and the U.S.
To complete an independent major, students submit:
- a statement of their reasons for wanting to create a major in the field
- a short description of their senior project
- a list of courses to be counted toward the major for approval by faculty members in the relevant disciplines
The director of women’s studies will guide interested students through this process and supervise the major. For further information on the independent major option see
