Mary Baldwin College brought home an Award of Excellence from this week's Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) conference in New Orleans for the design and implementation of its new Internet home page.
 
  Power > Event Examines Power, Reveals Upcoming College Themes
Today at noon, a panel of faculty members representing the four Schools of Excellence will gather in Francis Auditorium to discuss the concept of power, their thoughts concerning it, and how it applies to academics. Organizers invite the entire community to attend the discussion about the 2010–11 college-wide theme and learn what themes have been selected for the next two years.
 
  Kuumba Players > The Colored Museum Promises to Entertain and Surprise
The Black History Month celebration at Mary Baldwin College continues tomorrow with the performance of The Colored Museum by the Kuumba Players. The play tackles issues such as stereotypes and self identity with a satirical twist, and examines the strong desire and struggle for African Americans to release centuries of oppression.
 
  MLK Challenge > Meet the Challenge: 25 Acts of Service in 2011
Not letting the dust settle over the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration that took place in January, Mary Baldwin College President Pamela Fox challenged faculty, staff, students, and members of the Staunton community to perform 25 acts of service all year long in honor of King's legacy.

  Join Women on the Bridge > March 13
Join Me on the Bridge

MBC's Changemakers for Women will host "Join Me on the Bridge," part of a global campaign by Women for Women International to unite women all over the world in a global movement showing that they can build the bridges of peace and development for the future. 4 p.m. Spencer Center for Civic and Global Engagement, 110 N.
